Months ago I was looking through some Instagram posts, which were mainly mood boards, as I'm hella fond of those. I saw one with "weird words" as its theme and while sliding through the odd words the English language owns, I came across the word "vellichor".

And it intrigued me immensely. Why? Well, vellichor means: "the strange wistfulness of used bookstores". I, a complete and utter worshipper of bookstores with a story behind them, was mesmerized.

This word comes from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, by John Koenig. It's a site of words with a special meaning and feeling to it, that you don't find in a dictionary (but doesn't that make it even more wonderful?).

Months went by. And then, a few days ago, I saw my friend Pauline post something on her fantastic and amazingly aesthetically pleasing Instagram page and said that I wanted something like that too.

And that's when things got out of hand: I created not only an Instagram page but an email and a Pinterest and Linktree and even a site!

The name of my media became Vellichor Ghosts since I have an obsession with both the word Vellichor and with ghosts. Ghosts are just so damn cool and they fit my aesthetics so well!

So that's where we are at now. I hope to create a lot on this platform.

I see you soon.

Love,

Frae
